PETALING JAYA: CIMB Bank Bhd has announced that it will stop sending SMS notifications for online transactions performed on the CIMB Clicks website and CIMB Octo app starting May 17.

The notifications, called Post Transaction Alerts (PTA), will only be delivered via push notification in the CIMB Octo app following the change. These alerts are typically sent for both successful and failed scheduled transactions.

CIMB will now also require that customers' devices run on at least Android 10 and iOS 15 to use the Octo app. Previously, the minimum requirements were set to Android 9 and iOS 12.

A separate notice on the CIMB website states that banking services with both Automated Teller Machines and Cash Deposit Machines will also be unavailable on Saturday (May 17) from 12am until 8am.

The bank says that for further clarification, customers can reach out to its Consumer Contact Centre at 03-6204 7788.
