Energizer unveils its Power Max P18k Pop, which packs an 18,000mAh battery that can play videos for two days straight.

Have you ever wanted to carry a brick around in your pocket? Do you hate it when your phone battery dies halfway through the day?

Enter the Energizer Power Max P18k Pop, a smartphone that Energizer displayed at Mobile World Congress (MWC) featuring a 18,000mAh battery.

While the phone itself is Energizer branded, it's actually a release from Avenir Telecom, a French company that licensed the Energizer brand name.

A single charge of the Power Max's battery will be able to last for 90 hours of voice calls, 100 hours of music playback and two days of video playback, according to the ratings from Avenir.

It can also be used as a powerbank for other devices with its reverse charging feature.

The advantage of a phone with a large battery capacity is – besides not having to carry an external power charger – avoiding energy loss due to voltage conversion, which occurs when the standard powerbank converts its 3.7V voltage to the USB standard 5V.

As implied by the pop in the name, rather than having a notch Avenir instead opted for a centered pop-up selfie camera design with the Power Max, which gives the phone a battery-like silhouette when the selfie camera is deployed.

The pop-up selfie camera has two cameras: a 16-megapixel and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while the rear camera has a triple camera setup with a 12-megapixel, 5-megapixel, and 2-megapixel sensor.

The Power Max has a 6.2in display, 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and up to128GB expandable storage, fast charging and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Despite its bulky build, it still somehow managed to omit an audio jack.

If you're in the market for a smartphone that could also potentially be used as a blunt weapon, keep an eye out for the Energizer Power Max P18K Pop when it releases later this year.
