A million new web users get online each day

Unsurprisingly, social media is particularly popular with Internet users, no matter where they live.

The world now has more than 4.3 billion Internet users, almost 80% of whom are active on social media, according to the new Digital 2019 report from the We Are Social creative agency and the Hootsuite social media management platform.

That means that 57% of people in the world are now connected to the Internet. In the space of a year, the world has gained more than 367 million new Internet users, an increase of 9.1%.
