AirAsia postpones booking system upgrade, all systems to run normally

AirAsia customers will be able to make bookings as usual this weekend, after the low-cost carrier decided to postpone a planned upgrade of its reservation system.

"AirAsia will postpone a planned upgrade of its Navitaire New Skies reservation system due to unforeseen circumstances," it said in a press statement.

The upgrade was originally to be done from 2pm on Jan 19 to 3am on Jan 20, during which time flight bookings would be unavailable on AirAsia's website, mobile app, sales offices, counters and call centres.

During the upgrade, customers will also not be able to perform their self-check in via the Web, mobile app and airport kiosks, or manage their bookings.

The low-cost carrier says that the upgrade will be carried out at a later date.

"All systems will function as normal this weekend, and guests will be able to book flights, check in and manage their bookings as usual," the company added.
