There is a new WiFi plan exclusively for Digi customers.
The telecommunications company has announced that it is testing Digi WiFi Beta at selected areas in Malaysia. Digi WiFi is meant for customers who want to get online without relying too much on their mobile data.
For now, there are over 200 Digi WiFi hotspots available that are mostly concentrated in the Klang Valley area, like Jaya Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya, Giant Hypermarket USJ and Mawar Kolej in UiTM Shah Alam. Beyond that, a Digi WiFi hotspot can be found at Terminal One in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
There are four plans available for users to get connected to the WiFi network. It starts at 70sen for 30 minutes, followed by RM1 for one hour, RM1.20 for two hours and RM2 for four hours. All plans come with a complimentary MyDigi reward, usually in the form of F&B vouchers.
To get connected, turn on WiFi and search for #DigiWifi. Then follow the on-screen instructions to purchase and activate a plan.
The plan can be used at more than one WiFi hotspot as long as it’s within the validity period, which is 24 hours after purchase. You could, for instance, use the service for one hour and then disconnect, and log in again within 24 hours and use the remaining hours of your plan.
Digi also posted that it will strive to deliver a minimum speed of 4mbps (megabits per second). There is no download limit and upload quota for any of the plans at the moment. Users can also get connected on up to four devices simultaneously.
Digi WiFi is provided in partnership with Telekom Malaysia.
According to a Digi spokesperson, the beta testing period is expected to last until the end of January 2019.
