The console will support two resolutions
Sony is jumping aboard the nostalgia train – the company has announced it will be releasing the PlayStation Classic, a miniaturised version of its first console, the PlayStation.
PlayStation Worldwide Marketing senior vice president Eric Lempel says Sony the is bringing back the original PlayStation experience and the unit will be 45% smaller than the original and come with similar controllers.
"Almost 25 years ago, the original PlayStation was introduced to the world. Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment, it was the first home console in the videogame history to ship 100 million units worldwide, offering consumers a chance to play games with real-time 3D rendered graphics in their homes for the first time," he says, in a post on the Playstation blog.
