Wikipedia has just introduced a new preview function: If you hover the mouse cursor over a link to another Wikipedia page, you will get a peek of the article, including the first few sentences and an image, if available.

The upgrade is designed to make it easier for users to navigate through the online encyclopedia, explains the Wikimedia Foundation, which operates Wikipedia.

If you find the new function annoying, you can switch it off by clicking on the setting cog in the preview and disabling page previews. — dpa
