If the user triggers an SMS alert, all of the emergency contacts will receive the SMS alert simultaneously.

Grab has added a safety update to its in-app emergency button. Starting this month, users can assign up to three contacts to notify them of any emergency that occurs when using the ride-hailing service.

To set up the function, users have to access the Emergency screen via the menu on the app. Then they have to select the Manage Emergency Contacts feature and add up to three contact details. This can be modified, disabled or enabled at any given time.
