Foodpanda offering free deliveries for most restauraunts

Free food deliveries for most restaurants under FoodPanda, until March 31.

Foodpanda is offering free delivery for a huge number of restaurants under them, starting today until end of March.

“In line with our mission to bring good food into your everyday, we at Foodpanda want to celebrate Malaysians' mutual love for food by delivering your favourites right to your doorstep with no delivery fee,” said Foodpanda managing director (Malaysia and Brunei) Sayantan Das.

In addition to free delivery, customers could also enjoy various deals from selected partner restaurants, including discounts and free items with every purchase.

In a press statement, they announced that the promotion would run until March 31 for selected restaurants including Nando’s, Subway, Sushi King, Killer Gourmet Burgers (KGB), Kenny Rogers Roasters, Marrybrown and more.

A check of the Foodpanda website revealed that the offers were valid across Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru.

"Foodpanda has gone through every single order received in the past year to analyse and better understand what types of food Malaysian really love. The results are very interesting," he said.

They found that local food was most popular, making up 15% of all orders last year.

This was closely followed by Western, Chinese then Japanese food.

The rest of the top ten were made up of burgers, Indian, health, Indonesian, Middle Eastern, and lastly Mexican food.

"In terms of the different types of food that was favoured in the past year; we asked the question: What comes first; the chicken or the egg? In this case it’s chicken," he said.

Unsurprisingly fried and grilled chicken came first, followed by bento boxes and nasi lemak, fries, sushi and Naan.
