For those hesitant to change their iPhone batteries at official stores due to the long repair time, Machines now says it can fix it in four hours.

In a post on its Facebook, Machines said the battery replacement procedure for iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone SE could be done within four hours, if owners bring in their phones before 3PM.

The replacement would cost the same as before – RM129.

They added that there was still stock issues for the plus-sized iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus batteries, with more stock expected to arrive by April.

The replacement programme is available at the Machines Service Centres at Suria KLCC, The Curve, Mutiara Damansara and Northpoint Mid Valley.

It was reported that iPhone users were facing reduced performance with older models after updating them to iOS 11.

On Dec 28 last year, Apple responded to the controversy of it slowing down the performance of older iPhone models to extend battery life by discounting replacement batteries from US$79 (RM321) to US$29 (RM117).

Following this, local retailers Machines and Switch offered replacement batteries at RM129, while battery replacements for iPhone 5, 5C and 5S remained at RM399 but then the quoted repair time was at least five working days.
