After telling its users to stop deploying the previous patch issued for Spectre – which sometimes caused computers to spontaneously reboot – Intel has finally announced the newest fix.
It is rolling out patches for Kaby Lake-, Coffee Lake-, and the Skylake-based platforms. This covers the sixth, seventh and eighth generation Intel Core products, including the X-series processor family, Xeon Scalable and Xeon D processors for datacentre systems.
