BlackBerry awarded US$814.9mil in Qualcomm arbitration

Chipmaker Qualcomm Inc said it was asked to refund Canada's BlackBerry Ltd a sum of US$814.9mil (RM3.60bil) in an arbitration settlement over royalties for certain past sales. 

US-listed shares of BlackBerry were up about 16% at US$8.94 (RM39.54) in heavy premarket trading. Qualcomm was down about 1% at US$54.81 (RM242.42).
