In a surprise move, Apple has just announced a new colour option for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus – an anodised aluminium (PRODUCT) RED colour.
The (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition models have been released to celebrate 10 years of partnership between Apple and (RED), the organisation that helps fund HIV/AIDS-related programmes.
These new special edition models of the iPhone 7 will be available to order worldwide starting March 24 but will only ship at the end of March or beginning of April (depending on region) and will be available in 128GB and 256GB versions only.
As for pricing, the red 128GB iPhone 7 goes for RM3,699 while the 256GB version goes for RM4,199. The iPhone 7 Plus in red will retail for RM4,299 for the 128GB version while the 256GB version is RM4,799.
According to (RED) chief executive officer Deborah Dugan, Apple is the world’s largest corporate donor to the global fund and has contributed some US$130mil (about RM585mil) to date as part of its partnership with (RED).
Meanwhile, Apple is also doubling the capacity of the iPhone SE, from 16GB and 64GB to 32GB and 128GB. However, no word on availability has yet been announced.
