LG Electronics reports first quarterly operating loss in six years

Challenging times: Weaker earnings in LG's mobile business has affected its earnings.

SEOUL: South Korea's LG Electronics Inc said it swung to an operating loss of 35bil won (RM133.4mil) in the fourth quarter, in line with its guidance earlier this month.

LG's first quarterly operating loss in six years is partly due to weaker earnings in its mobile business, analysts said. Revenue for the October to December period rose 1.5% from a year earlier to 14.8tril won (RM56bil) .—  Reuters
