Cheapest of its kind: The wireless Blink XT also features weatherproof technology and infra-red visions for all-weather, 24-hour surveillance.

On Dec 5, home-security technology company Blink announced the release of its latest creation: the outdoor camera "Blink XT," featuring two-year battery life, weatherproof technology and infrared night vision.

Blink has produced its very first exterior camera, the Blink XT. With a recommended retail price of US$119 (RM530), the camera is among the cheapest of its kind on the market and can be pre-ordered from Monday, although shipping will only begin in Feb 2017.

The camera uses two AA lithium batteries which the company claims will last "two years versus other battery-operated cameras that have a battery life of only a few months."

The wireless Blink XT also features weatherproof technology and infra-red visions for all-weather, 24-hour surveillance. It can be integrated into the system of pre-existing Blink home security cameras. The new Blink XT will be on show at the CES 2017 global consumer electronics and consumer technology trade show in Jan 2017, in Las Vegas. — AFP Relaxnews
