Uber and Grab are popular choices for commuting today.
However, due to high demand for these services in popular areas such as Bangsar, Mont Kiara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail and Damansara Uptown, there are times when it’s tough to get a ride, especially during peak periods.
Starting from today, our very own ride hailing service Grab is offering a “100% Ride Guarantee” to customers to test its service coverage in the mentioned areas.
Under the latest campaign, users who fail to secure a ride after making a booking, and are shown the message “Sorry, we couldn’t find you a driver” twice in a row will be compensated with a free ride up to RM8.
According to Grab, these users will receive an SMS within 48 hours with a promo code.
For instance, if you tried twice to book a ride from Bangsar to Menara Star and the fare was RM12, you will now only need to pay an additional RM4 for the next ride, after applying the promo code.
“The reason why we did so many major campaigns this year was so that we have enough customers for our drivers,” said Grab Malaysia country marketing head Iris Chang.
“If there are no customers, there are no drivers and if there are no drivers there is no Grab.”
However, do note that the free promo is applicable only for bookings made between 8am and 8pm daily and will be limited to 10 rides per passenger during the campaign period, which runs until further notice.
Also, only one promo code will be provided to each eligible passenger per day.
In addition to the four locations above, the campaign is also valid for Bandar Utama, Sri Hartamas, Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens, Publika and 1Utama Shopping Centre.
In another offer, Grab is offering a RM5 discount off two rides within Klang Valley for the first week of the campaign from Nov 17 to 23. A maximum 10,000 redemptions per day will be allowed. So if you happen to be the 10,001th person, tough luck.
