Celcom unveils exciting CNY deals

Zalman Aefendy Zanal Abidin at Celcom Axiata Berhad to unveil latest smartphones and deals as part of their CNY promotion

This Chinese New Year, be the envy of your cousins and relatives with Celcom’s NewPhone plan.

The latest offering by the telco gives you the chance to own a 4G LTE smartphone without having to pay the full price or any upfront charges. Heck, you don’t even have to commit to any plans or contracts.

“This is a tremendous boost to our customers who revel in staying up-to-date with new models which come with innovative technology,” says Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin, Celcom’s chief of sales and marketing officer.

Starting as low as RM55 per month, all that’s required of a customer is any Celcom postpaid plan and you’re set to go. Even better, customers can return the device after 12 months and exchange it with the latest model without any extra cost.

An advance change fee will be incurred should you opt to change to a new device before the 12-month interval ends. Also, a mandatory three months advance payment will be required unless you’re an existing Celcom customer for more than a year.

The 4G LTE smartphone models offered by the telco under the NewPhone plan are Samsung Galaxy J7 (RM55), Galaxy A8 (RM105), Galaxy S6 edge (RM145), Galaxy Note 5 (RM145) and Galaxy S6 edge+ (RM175).

The NewPhone plan also comes with Device Protection which essentially covers robbery, accidental damage and house break-ins, to name a few.

Should a customer choose to continue with a single device for two years straight, they will get to keep the phone.

Also as part of its Chinese New Year offering, Celcom unveiled the FattNet deal under for Xpax prepaid. Available from Feb 5 till March 31, this limited-time offer provides an increased data quota of 8GB monthly, free 88 minutes for calls and free 88 SMS for just RM88.

Zalman called it Celcom’s “XL internet plan” and says it’s especially catered towards hardcore Internet users.

The telco also announced the First Gold 80 deal. For RM80 per month, customers will get an increased data quota of 10GB monthly, unlimited calls and SMS to all networks, free unlimited music with Yonder Music for 12 months, and an extended credit limit of RM400.

The deal is available from Feb 2 to March 31 and customers who sign up for the First Gold 80 plan during the promotional period will be able to keep the monthly payment of RM80 once the promotion is over.

“Celcom is thrilled to be giving the best offers for this festive season and they have been personalised to cater to the ever changing digital needs of Malaysians. “It goes without saying that these new and enhanced plans complement correspondingly to our customers’ usage behaviour,” says Zalman.
