Food porn: Google is testing out a food mapping feature.

Google is testing out a new feature with some of its local city guides that will allow users to attach "foodographs" to restaurants and cafes on Google Maps.

According to Android Police, the new feature will be tested out among the community of "level three" local guides – those who've contributed more than 50 reviews to the crowd-sourced city guide programme.

The feature detects when users have taken a "foodograph," or foodporn of a dish at a local establishment, and then allows them to post photos directly to the Maps app for others to see.

The service is not unlike Google's shuttered Tablescape feature, also designed for tech-savvy foodies. — AFP Relaxnews
