Catch our very own kYxY, Mushi, Kecik Imba, Ohaiyo and JoHnNy take on the work in The International.

Astro subscribers will be able to watch The International 2015 Dota 2 Championships for free on Astro SuperSport Plus Channel 808 and Astro on the Go from Aug 4 to 9.

It’s the first live e-Sports offering from Astro. Viewers will get to enjoy eight hours of live matches daily, replays and exclusive content and on multiple mobile devices via Astro on the Go.

The championship will pit 16 teams for the total prize money of more than US$17mil (RM65mil). Fnatic, formerly Team Malaysia, has already secured a direct invite to the competition.

Fnatic is made up of “Mushi” Chai Yee Fung, “kYxY” Lee Kang Yang, “Kecik Imba” Fadil Mohd Raziff, “Ohaiyo” Khoo Chong Xin, and “JoHnNy” Lee Siong Tait.

Mushi, kYxY and Ohaiyo were part of Orange eSports when it was placed third in The International in 2013.

In addition to the live coverage, SuperSport Plus will also produce behind-the-scenes videos and follow the progress of Fnatic.

“We’re honoured to be the first broadcaster to offer live coverage for the richest and most respected e-Sports tournament,” said Lee Choong Khay, Astro’s head of sports business.

“e-Sports is now enjoying a booming popularity and we believe that the championship will be a big hit with over 10 million gamers in Malaysia.”

Now in its fifth year, The International will return to The KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. Catch the opening of The International tomorrow at 1.00am on Astro SuperSport Plus Channel 808 and on Astro on the Go.
