Epson Malaysia is moving beyond the pre-press and photo market to focus on the CAD (Computer Aided Design) and digital-to-garment segment.
Epson Malaysia is offering T and F series printers that range from RM9,998 to RM71,500 to cater to these segments.
Epson general manager Danny Lee said, “The pre-press and photo market for the past three years have reached saturation point, and we realise that we need to move ourselves towards different segments with high growth.”
The T series comprises of five variants -- SC-T3270, SC-T5270, SC-T5270D, SC-T7270, and SC-T7270D.
It caters to engineering, architecture and scientific professionals, as the large format prints are suitable for architectural plans, maps, 3D rendering graphics, indoor signage and geographic information maps.
When one talks about garment printers, one will usually think of large-scale industry machines.
Epson’s F series which can print at either up to 44in with the SC-F6070 and 64in with the SC-F7070 offer what Lee referred to as customised, small-to-medium scale printer which is targeted at fashion designers.
Both models Epson’s first dye-sublimation printers which can print up to 1,440x720 depth per inch on soft-signage, sportswear, apparel and customised surface for mouse pad, ceramic mugs among others.
The F series price ranges from RM26,188 to RM71,500.
According to Lee, the outdoor and indoor segments will be the other key area for Epson, where the SureColor S series printers are targeted.
The S series can print on coated and uncoated materials such as adhesive-based vinyl, canvas and clear film, which allows for multiple applications from signage, banners, vehicle wraps and point-of-sale materials.
At the event, Lee said that the printers will be subjected to GST but could not provide any confirmation on whether there will be a price reduction or increase.
