A FOR AFFORDABILITY: The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 V is available in Ebony Black and Creamy White and is going for a song.

Consumers who are shopping for their first tablet have an affordable option with the new Samsung Galaxy Tab3 V.

Priced competitively at RM499, the 7in tablet offers 1,024 x 600-pixel resolution with its TN (twisted nematic) LCD display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor. TN screens have quicker response time, higher brightness, consume less power and are cheaper to make.

While tablets with mobile connection capability usually cost more than WiFi-only models, the Tab3 V provides access to the Internet on the go with its built in 3G connectivity.

The tablet comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 32GB with microSD).

Other specs include 2-megapixel cameras for both the front and rear and a relatively huge 3,600mAh battery for more power on the go.

The tablet, which runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, will be available in two colours -- Ebony Black  and Creamy White.
