Marvel Super Heroes join Disney Infinity

Toys and videogames go hand in hand, so it was no surprise that Disney Infinity, which combines both, was a hit when it launched last year.  

The sequel — Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes — is here now and as the name hints, the roster has been expanded to include superheroes like Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.

Players can look forward to news worlds and new stories based on Marvel’s iconic characters, said Disney Infinity senior producer, Michael Schneider.

Now with version 2.0 of Toy Box it’s easier than ever to make your own custom worlds to play in with both Marvel and Disney characters. 

Back in version 1.0 you had to build all the elements of the world from scratch but now you can drop bots that automatically build pieces of the environment for you, making cities, race tracks and anything you can imagine.

You can also now create interior environments, something that was missing in the first version of the game, as well as new gameplay modes such as Tower Defence and Dungeon Crawler.

The company also released new Disney characters for the Toy Mode such as Tinker Bell, Merida from Brave, Aladdin, Stitch and Donald Duck.

To play any of the new characters, you just have to buy the toy, which will come “alive” in the game when placed on the base that comes with the game. 

The starter set, which includes three figures and a playset, costs RM259. Playsets are essentially worlds based on movies such as an Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy .

At the moment, there are two playsets available — Spider-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy — and each costs RM109. Individual Disney Infinity figures will go for RM44 each while Power Disc packs, which give you power ups , rides and costumes, retail for RM20 each.

The game is available now for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U. The company said it is currently also developing the game for PS Vita, PC and iOS.
