A European Union-supported project is trying to take the pain out of parking a car at the airport or train station so that one day soon you'll be able to leave the car to it and head to the check-in desk, rather than the multilevel parking lot.
The V-CHARGE Consortium, made up of German, Swiss and UK university researchers as well as Volkswagen and Bosch, is armed with €5.6mil (RM24.07mil) of EU funding and is currently working on turning this dream of fully automated parking into a reality — and a system that could soon be fitted as standard to electric cars.
