Logitech unleashes fast and furious mouse

When it comes to gaming, sometimes it’s all about speed. Peripherals maker Logitech claims it has made the world’s fastest gaming mouse, the G402 Hyperion Fury, which can reliably track over 500 inches per second.

“We took on the challenge of creating the world’s fastest mouse for FPS (first-person shooter) gamers, and after three years of intensive research and development, we are proud to launch the G402,” said KP Sim, Logitech country manager for Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei.

According to the company, one of the problems gamers have with their mice is that they can’t track as fast as they can move. The G402 doesn’t suffer from this problem as it combines optical sensor technology with an accelerometer and gyroscope to speed up tracking.

Also, it has a 32-bit on-board ARM processor to ensure that the tracking is always reliable and accurate even at high speeds.

The mouse has four DPI settings, ranging from 240 to 4,000, so that you can shift down for pixel-perfect sniping or shift up for high-speed manoeuvres. If that’s not enough, you can add a fifth DPI setting using its Gaming Software.

The Hyperion Fury also features eight programmable buttons and each one can be configured for a single keystroke or a complex macro.

As of press time, the company has yet to reveal the price or availability.
