It’s perhaps a testament to the influence of Star Trek: The Original Series (ST:TOS) that there are so many fan sites online continuing the adventures of Captain Kirk and crew in both written and video form.
One of the earliest fan film sites, which has been making new episodes of ST:TOS for about 10 years, just successfully Kickstarted a round of funding to produce more episodes of the series -- a relatively low funding goal of US$10,000 (about RM32,000) ended with the project earning nearly US$65,000 (about RM209,000), allowing the dedicated group of fans to continue producing episodes of TOS.
