NTT Com builds fourth datacentre to meet demand for outsourcing services

With the rising demand for outsourcing services, as well as interconnected and managed datacentres, NTT Communications has opened its Rimba Digital 2 – Global Solution Center & Malaysia Cyberjaya 4 Data Center.

The Rimba Digital 2 comes just after two years of launching Rimba Digital – Technology Center & Malaysia Cyberjaya 3 Data Center. It’s NTT Com’s the fourth datacentre in Malaysia and its 146th worldwide.

Cyberjaya4 will meet the demand for datacentre facilities and services, which industry experts expect to remain strong over the next few years.

Malaysia is one of the world’s top-three destinations for IT outsourcing, said president and chief executive officer of NTT MSC Sdn Bhd, Fumitoshi Imaizumi.

“Cyberjaya4 offers customers from all sectors, particularly the financial services industry with a large number of advanced features like enhanced data security for high integrity, reliability and performance,” he said.

“Services include not only co-location but also hosting, managed services, disaster recovery and security.”

Similar to its Cyberjaya3, the new facility features tenantable office space at its Global Solution Center, providing customers with space for remote offices or backup sites, a unique service among datacentres in this region, the company claimed.

Its flexible cabling system allows customers to virtually expand facilities or modify functionality — it’s great for companies that need customised, dedicated systems to fully control their data and equipment.

The facility is also designed with 42,000sqft  of white space for future infrastructure expansion, eliminating the need for NTT Com to finance and build another facility.

The Cyberjaya4 has a total floor space of 87,000sqft, a twofold increase compared to Cyberjaya3. The extra space will accommodate higher human capacity, as well as amenities to support daily operations. These include the Network Operation Center, security room, meeting rooms, and staging areas.

The facility also features NTT Com’s Cloud platform, and is certified to the latest global standards, including TIA-942 Tier 3 and ISO 27001:2005.

Cyberjaya4 is self-owned, self-built and self-operated by NTT Com.
