The online retailer is considering offering its first handset to users free of charge without even a contract.
According to tech writers Jessica Lessin and Amir Efrati, Amazon’s phone would be yet another gateway to the company’s growing multimedia library, just like its existing range of Kindle Fire tablets — which are currently sold at cost or even at a small loss.
