Fujitsu unveils its Stylistic Tablet PC

WITH the release of the Fujitsu Stylistic Q550 Tablet PC, mobile professionals now have more choices especially those who are looking for a Tablet PC packed with security features.

Fujitsu said the Q550 comes with biometric fingerprint identity authentication, a smartcard reader, an embedded security chip and an encrypted solid-state drive (SSD). With all these features in place, the Q550 is suitable for business purposes as the data stored in the device are protected and secure, the company said.

As for the user interface, users can control applications and input text by touching the screen or using the attached stylus.

The Q550 supports up to four-point multiple touch capabilities, which gives users more creative ways to use the Tablet. For example, they can use two fingers to zoom into a screen or change windows by sweeping them left and right. Text can also be entered via an onscreen keyboard with predictive text functionality.

The Q550, which weighs 870g and is 16.2mm thick, comes with a 10.1in WXGA wide-angle display with anti-glare touchscreen technology. The screen also has an anti-fingerprint coating to reduce smudges.

Other features include a front camera (0.3-megapixel), rear camera (1.3-megapixel), dual microphones and speaker.

The Q550 is powered by Intel Atom processor and runs on the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. It comes with 2GB of memory and 62GB of storage.

It also has a HDMI port, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n. The Q550 is powered by built-in lithium polymer battery (four cell), which offers up to nine hours of battery life. The Q550 retails at RM3,770 (without 3G). It can also be custom made according to an organisation’s requirements.
