NEW YORK: MTV, which presents the Video Music Awards, its own Movie Awards and European Music Awards, plans to produce a digital music award show, expected to launch this April or May.
“The music industry has evolved into a digital medium, and fans have evolved right along with it. So we figured it was time to re-examine how we reward achievement in these new mediums,” explained Dermot McCormack, executive vice-president of digital media AT MTV Networks Music and Logo Group.
