How NEM rakyat adds value to solar customers

The cost of installing solar panels has decreased significantly in recent years, making it a more affordable and practical solution for new homeowners.

A simple switch to photovoltaic (PV) solar systems can help households translate huge bill savings of up to 90% each month.

This is because domestic consumers who have a solar PV installation with excess energy can offset part of the electricity bill under the Energy Metering (NEM) Rakyat Programme.

The conditions of NEM and Self-Consumption for Solar Photovoltaic Installation (SelCo) programmes have even been loosened by the government to encourage the use of PV solar systems.
