With its smooth taste, Carlsberg Smooth Draught is the perfect choice for spicy food lovers as it soothes and refreshes the palate from the intense flavours of spicy dishes and leaves your taste buds wanting more.
Real Spicy, Real Smooth
To showcase the beer’s perfect pairing with spicy foods, Carlsberg Malaysia is set to host a celebration of local spicy flavours with the Real Spicy, Real Smooth pop-up event this Aug 18 to Sept 2 at JioSpace in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Carlsberg has teamed up with local culinary partners to curate finger-licking local spicy dishes.
The event will be an experience like no other with smooth beer, interactive activities and games, and even parties with DJs throughout the event period.
Carlsberg has also teamed up with local culinary partners such as MonsterChef, Bean Jr and Churn to curate finger-licking local spicy dishes and desserts – that pair like a dream with a Carlsberg Smooth Draught.
Chef KC from MonsterChef has over 10 years of experience in the F&B industry and has curated seven local spicy dishes specifically for this event. Some of the dishes include devil curry pocket buns, nasi lemak rice bomb and even pork satay paired with pineapple peanut sauce.
Bean Jr, on the other hand, will be offering its signature mala tau foo fah which comes in three different spice levels.
You’ll have to get a taste of Churn’s Beer-gato while you’re there!
If the spiciness gets too much at some point, you can always cool off with some desserts from Churn – like the Beer-gato – which feature ice cream or sorbets mixed with Carlsberg Smooth Draught.
By simply showing up for the event, visitors will also be entitled to a complimentary Carlsberg Smooth Draught.
What’s more is that there will be workshops where you can unleash your inner bartender by trying your hand at crafting your own cocktails and tapping your own beer. No pre-registration is required for the cocktail workshop, which will be conducted every weekend by Soma Cocktail Bar’s co-owner Jason Julian.
You can even craft your own cocktails and tap your own beer at the pop-up event.
Apart from the F&B related activities, there is even set to be a photobooth and interactive games all packed with endless fun into one location!
There will also be electrifying performances every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the event period which will feature renowned local DJs such as Bass Agents, Ken Fung, Ramsey Westwood, Mizzkiya and Naro & Sim, as well as an international act – Inquisitive – from Singapore.
Renowned DJs will also be lighting up the atmosphere during the event period, with performances every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Exclusive merchandise, made in collaboration with Apom! and Gumme, will be sold at the event.
Apom!, which is a quirky local store that specialises in pun-based customised T-shirts, will be offering three event-themed T-shirts in different designs, while Gumme – a local accessories brand owned by local personality Ju Wei Teoh – will be selling specially designed phone charms exclusively at the event.
Gumme will even host a phone charm workshop every Saturday from 2pm-3pm. Seats are limited, so you’ll have to be quick and sign up early.
Keep in mind that the legal drinking age in Malaysia is 21 years old, which means you need to be at least 21 and non-Muslim in order to buy and consume alcohol.
Also, remember to always drink responsibly and in moderation. Definitely, don’t drink and drive.
If you plan to drink, carpool with a friend who’s remaining sober on that night or catch a cab instead of driving.
