Create unique Malaysian and Korean fusion recipes using K Fresh ingredients and win mystery prizes worth a total of RM10,000.

STAYING home has never been more rewarding when you can cook and win attractive prizes.

Whether you are able to prepare fancy samgyeopsal or just instant ramyun, it is time to whip out your creativity for the #KDapurMerdeka giveaway.

In conjunction with Merdeka, K Fresh by First Pick is organising a month-long recipe activity, where participants will need to use two or more K Fresh products to create a unique Malaysian and Korean-themed dish.

The first 20 participants will be guaranteed to receive a mystery gift worth RM500 each.

K Fresh by First Pick, powered by Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation (aT Centre), first started in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and reached our shores in mid-2019.

Leading local importer Euro-Atlantic Sdn Bhd has been selected to exclusively operate K Fresh Zone in Malaysia, branding it K Fresh by First Pick.

Although a rather young homegrown brand, K Fresh has already made its way to 16 supermarkets nationwide, with three more set to open by the end of the year.

Each outlet has a designated location with a vibrant display of all-Korean produce decorated with an unmistakable splash of royal blue designs.

From household staples, such as cabbage and onions, to more exotic selections like perilla leaves, golden enoki and Korea’s spiciest pepper cheongyang gochu, you can now experience a part of Korea at your neighbourhood grocery stores and various online platforms.

More than 20 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables are carefully selected and air-flown directly to Malaysia.

“Most of us are familiar with Korean restaurant dishes, but not many know how to cook them from scratch,” said Euro-Atlantic Sdn Bhd managing director Ebby Loo.

“Through the #KDapurMerdeka giveaway, we hope to encourage more people to learn about Korean fresh produce and start incorporating them in their favourite local dishes by cooking from home.”

The #KDapurMerdeka giveaway is the perfect opportunity to amalgamate both local and Korean flavours, be it a fusion dish or local dish altogether.

Participants are free to come up with unique ideas or use the existing K Fresh recipes as references, which can be found at the official website.

Steps to participate and win:

1) Purchase any two or more K Fresh ingredients.

2) Create a Malaysian and Korean-themed dish.

3) Share your recipe via Facebook or Instagram (profile set to public), tag @kfreshmy and #KDapurMerdeka.

4) Include a before (purchased K Fresh produce) and after (final dish) visual in the post, story or reel.

5) Send your name, delivery address, contact number and email address to @kfreshmy for the gift delivery.

The giveaway period starts Aug 1 to 31. Netizens will be able to find out more details about #KDapurMerdeka, access a list of K Fresh stores and keep abreast with the latest happenings by following @kfreshmy on Facebook and Instagram, or by visiting linktr.ee/kfreshmy.
