Sivasangari cruises into Grasshopper Cup semi-finals

PETALING JAYA: National squash player S. Sivasangari delivered a dominant display against Egypt's Nadda Abbas to book her spot in the Grasshopper Cup semi-finals in Zurich on Friday (Apr 24).

World No. 6 and third seed Sivasangari took just 15 minutes to win 11-5, 11-4 against seventh seed Nadda at the Zurich Main Station.

The 27-year-old Sivasangari finished runner-up to Egypt's Nouran Gohar at last year's edition.

She will now play another Egyptian, Amina Orfi, in the semi-finals on Saturday (Apr 25).

Sivasangari has only beaten 18-year-old Amina once in their past eight meetings.

The Egyptian has won the last six matches consecutively, most recently at the Karachi Open final in Jan.
