PETALING JAYA: National squash player S. Sivasangari advanced to the Silicon Valley Open semi-finals after winning a hard-fought battle against American Amanda Sobhy in the quarter-finals on Monday (Oct 13).

Third seed Sivasangari held off fifth seed Sobhy to win 12-10, 12-10, 8-11, 11-6 in 48 minutes at the Squash Zone in Redwood City, California.
