Sivasangari receives much needed boost with win over Elaraby


PETALING JAYA: Top squash player S. Sivasangari’s (pic) push to halt her declining world ranking received a massive boost when she upset world No. 11 Rowan Elaraby of Egypt to reach the Manchester Open quarter-finals.

Sivasangari, who has dropped from 16th to 40th in the world ranking, battled her way to exact sweet revenge over the gritty rival Elaraby 11-9, 12-10, 9-11, 11-9 in 42 minutes in the second round yesterday.
