Defending champ Massaro checks into worlds quarter-final

PETALING JAYA: Defending champion Laura Massaro fought off an early challenge by Hong Kong’s Annie Au to move one step closer to a third successive Women’s World Championship final.

The 31-year-old Massaro who arrived in Cairo, Egypt as a double world champion, having helped England to the Women’s World Team Championship title in Canada, held off world No.9 Annie for a 12-10, 12-10, 11-2 win in the second round.
