BANGKOK: National rifle shooter Gan Chen Jie has finally gunned down a gold medal after coming close twice at the Thailand SEA Games.

Chen Jie bagged the women's 50m rifle three positions event with a score of 451.7 points at the Thailand Sports Authority Shooting Range.

And the 20-year-old did it in style by breaking the SEA Games record.

She erased the mark of 451.1 set by Phi Thanh Tal of Vietnam at the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi.

Indonesia’s Audrey Zahra Dhiyaanisa took silver with 451.5 while Singapore’s Adele Tan won bronze with 440.6.

Chen Jien has won the rifle three positions team silver and a bronze in the 10m air rifle earlier.
