Asian meet is Suryani’s best chance of qualifying for Olympics

KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran shooter Nur Suryani Taibi will have two shots at qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics, starting with the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championships in Jakarta next month.

National Shooting Association of Malaysia executive secretary Hayati Shamsuri said if Nur Suryani wins the Jan 5-18 Asian meet, she will qualify for her third Olympic outing after the 2012 London and 2020 Tokyo editions.Nur Suryani is expected to compete in two individual events – women’s 50m rifle three-position and 10m air rifle – in Jakarta.
