BANGKOK: Tan Cheong Min secures Malaysia's 21st gold medal at the Thailand SEA Games after triumphing in the women's nanquan, nangun and nandao combined events at Cheng Wattana Government Complex today (Dec 15).
The reigning world champion scored 9.760 in her nandao (broadsword) routine, bringing her total to 29.263 and earning her the top spot.
Dang Tran Phuong Nhi took silver for Vietnam with 29.112, while Kassandra Ong of Singapore claimed bronze with 28.579.
This marks Malaysia's second wushu gold, following Loh Ying Ting, Sydney Chin and Mandy Cebelle Chen's victory in the women's duilian barehands event on Saturday.
Malaysia also secured a silver through Pang Pui Yee in the women's changquan, qiangshu and jianshu combined events with a score of 29.139.
Geraldine Patricia of Indonesia captured the gold with 29.266.
