Mohd Hafifi heaves gold in Commonwealth weightlifting meet

PETALING JAYA: Mohd Hafifi Mansor received a timely confidence boost to his Olympic aspirations after delivering Malaysia’s only gold in the senior category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships in Pune, India.

Hafifi, 24, lifted a total of 303kg – 132kg in the snatch and 171kg in the clean and jerk – to win the men’s 69kg on the last day of the meet on Saturday.
