Qabil suffers double fracture on left leg


PETALING JAYA: Malaysian motorsport talent Qabil Irfan Azlan has fractured his left leg in two places after he crashed during free practice session of the Moto4 European Cup at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain.

The incident occurred on Friday (Sept 4) as he crashed while negotiating Turn 5. The rider behind Qabil Irfan was unable to avoid and hit his left leg.

The practice session was stopped and he was taken to a nearby hospital.

A medical examination confirmed that he had fractured the tibia and fibula in his left leg.

Qabil Irfan subsequently underwent surgery.

The 14-year-old will remain in hospital under close observation before he is cleared to return to Malaysia.
