KUALA LUMPUR: National junior rider Qabil Irfan Azlan has crashed during Free Practice 2 (FP2) of the Moto4 European Cup at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain.
ZK Racing, in a statement on Friday (Sept 4), said the 14-year-old rider was taken to a nearby hospital for examination and further treatment but did not provide an update on his condition.
"During the Free Practice 2 session of the Moto4 European Cup Round 5 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia, Spain, Qabil Irfan was involved in a crash and was unable to continue the session.
"He has been taken to a nearby hospital for further examination and treatment. Any developments and official information will be updated from time to time through the ZK Racing platform," the statement said.
The fifth round of the Moto4 European Cup is being held at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit from Sept 4 to 6, with Qabil returning to a track where he previously enjoyed success in the FIM MiniGP competition.
Qabil previously made headlines in his debut Moto4 European Cup campaign by securing his first podium, finishing third in Race 2 of the third round in Jerez, Spain. – Bernama
