Teamwork pays off as Afif wins CP150 category

PETALING JAYA: Rider Ahmad Afif Amran’s success in Round 8 of the Malaysian Cub Prix has underlined the importance of teamwork.

Afif of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha – CKJ Racing clocked in 15:05.875 to claim the victory of CP150 category at the Tangkak Circuit in Johor yesterday but he has teammate Mohd Izzat Zaidi Mohd Salehan to thank for.

Both worked together with the aim of improving the team’s overall standings.

Izzat was holding the lead position throughout the first eleven laps until Afif found the suitable timing to make the strategic move and took over P1 in the 12th lap.

Izzat finished second with a time of 15:07.601.

Afif was grateful that Izzat was willing to work together to retain his overall standings.

“This is definitely a strategy between my teammate and I as I was trying to maximise my points for the overall title,” said Afif.

“I’m truly thankful as Izzat has been a great help in realising our team’s aspirations.”

Afif also thanked his team for solving some teething issues with his machine.

“Whatever issues that we faced in regards to the machine were solved almost immediately,” he said.

“This could not have been possible if it was not for my team and crew members who were involved in the setup of the machine.”
