NOW in its 36th year, the MercedesTrophy continues to unite golfers from more than 60 countries, anchored by the brand’s enduring values of performance, precision, and excellence.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia general manager of Marketing Communications, Elaine Hew, said the 2026 edition once again highlighted “the power of sport to bring people together through a shared passion for excellence, integrity and meaningful connections”.

She added that as the brand celebrates its 140th anniversary, Mercedes-Benz remained committed to creating experiences that “go beyond the drive”, while building lasting relationships through memorable Mercedes Moments.

Hew also praised the finalists for their performance and sportsmanship as they prepare to represent Malaysia at the MercedesTrophy World Final.

This year’s campaign unfolded across four qualifying rounds at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort and Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, with the top five golfers from each round advancing to the National Final.

The finale, staged at the Els Club Desaru Coast in Johor, demanded accuracy, strategy, and composure on a championship layout known for its exacting test.

Three golfers emerged victorious in their respective divisions, Category A: Ng Jun Lip, Category B: Mohd Azli Jamal and Category C: Liew Kim Weng.

The tournament also featured a suite of exclusive prizes, headlined by the Mercedes-Benz E 350e as the hole-in-one reward.

Datuk Shaifuddin Abdul Manan claimed the Drive to the Major title, earning an all-expenses-paid trip to the British Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England, this week.

The top three golfers in each category, secured an all‑ inclusive berth at the MercedesTrophy World Final 2026, set for Sept 28 to Oct 2 at the Der Oschberghof in the Black Forest, Donaueschingen,  Germany, overlooking Lake Constance and the Swiss Alps.
