MERCEDES-Benz Malaysia has announced the return of their annual MercedesTrophy, now in its 34th year.

The tournament series is designed for customers to experience the Mercedes-Benz brand through their passion for golf, they said in a statement.

“Golf is a sport that embodies athletic excellence and captivating allure, qualities that are inherently aligned with the Mercedes-Benz brand,” Mercedes-Benz Malaysia chief executive officer and president Amanda Zhang said in the statement.

“At Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, our commitment lies in curating a tournament that not only pays homage to the esteemed sport of golf but also reflects the sophisticated essence of luxury and precision our brand stands for,” said Zhang.

“We eagerly anticipate welcoming participants to this year’s MercedesTrophy, promising an unforgettable experience that delights and impresses our esteemed customers.

“The MercedesTrophy is a worldwide amateur golf tournament held exclusively for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia customers who share an enthusiasm for the sport.”

Hosting over 60,000 golfers in more than 60 countries every year, the tournament series is one of the most coveted annual golf events.

This year’s competition will be played in four qualifying rounds with the first taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club on May 14.

The winners of each round will then meet in the national final which will be held once again, at the Els Club Desaru Coast in Johor on June 20.

The first player to hit a hole-in-one on any of the two designated par-3 holes at each venue will win a Mecedes-Benz EQE 350+ 4MATIC, worth a cool RM419,888.

In addition to that, there is the Drive to the Major, a unique competition exclusive to Mercedes-Benz owners and offered worldwide.

The finalist who achieves the straightest drive or nearest to the line at the national final will be declared the winner and receive a once-in-a-lifetime experience with an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2024 British Open championship, taking place at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland from July 17 to 22.
