THE third men’s major of the season – 126th US Open – is set for Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York, the fabled links-styled course that has shaped some of the most compelling, and controversial championships over the years.
From Thursday through Sunday, the world’s elite will take on a par‑70 layout that stretches to 7,437 yards, will feel the dangers of the wind coming off the Atlantic and deal with some of the harshest rough in the sport – as was witnessed in the 2018 showdown.
