Singaporean takes clubhouse lead at rain-affected Selangor Masters

In top form: Nicklaus Chiam finished the day with a slender one-stroke lead over Thai duo Kosuke Hamamoto and Amarin Kraivixien.

PETALING JAYA: Nicklaus Chiam lived up to his namesake by emerging as the first round clubhouse leader on the opening day of the PKNS Selangor Masters as the Malaysian brigade struggled to keep up at Seri Selangor Golf Club.

The 30-year-old Singaporean, who was named after golf legend Jack Nicklaus, tamed the windy conditions to finish with a fine seven-under 64 to top the first day of play yesterday.
