Ashley confirms Olympic ticket

PETALING JAYA: Ashley Lau will make her Olympic Games debut after ensuring the nation will have two representatives in the golf competition in Paris.

The 23-year-old sealed her place in Paris in the women’s golf competition from August 7-10 following the conclusion of the qualifying period for the women’s golf competition on Monday.

Ashley will be among the top 60 women golfers set to tee off at the Le Golf National after securing her place in the final Olympics Golf Ranking (top 60).

Ashley was ranked 49th in the Olympics Golf Ranking.

She will be the second Malaysian golfer to qualify on merit for Paris after Gavin Green.

Gavin earlier made the cut for the men’s competition and will be making his third Olympic appearance in Paris.
