Jeneath overcomes wet conditions to clinch crown

Top form: Jeneath Wong also won the team gold with Ng Jing Xue and Victoria Tan.

RAIN is always a bane for golfers but Federal Territories’ (FT) Jeneath Wong revelled in the wet as she won the Malaysia Games (Sukma) women’s individual gold by a massive six strokes.

Jeneath, who won bronze at the Hanoi SEA Games three months ago, stayed calm despite an early downpour that disrupted play and carded a two-under 70 in the final round for a three-over 219 total at the Kelab Golf Negara Subang yesterday.
