Penang cruise into FA Cup quarter-finals with 5-0 aggregate win over Melaka

PETALING JAYA: Penang stormed into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a commanding 5-0 aggregate win over Melaka in the round of 16.

Already holding a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, Wan Rohaimi Wan Abdul Rahman’s men delighted the City Stadium crowd in Georgetown on Monday (Sept 15) with a 3-0 victory in the return leg.

Stefano Brundo opened the scoring in the 11th minute, nodding in Dylan Wenzel-Halls’ corner, before Ahmad Haziq Kutty Abba doubled the lead in the 39th minute.

Despite OJ Porteria’s dismissal in the 78th minute, the Panthers sealed the win through Tchetche Kipre’s strike 10 minutes from time, ensuring a dominant passage into the last eight.
